Mo has spent over half a decade supporting learning initiatives inside carceral facilities. A graduate of UC Berkeley’s Goldman School of Public Policy, she brings a deep research background in immigration policy and carceral reform to their work. Beyond their professional role, they are a passionate mixed media artist and have volunteered in San Quentin’s media lab since 2021.
Stephany Baker
Stephany D. Baker is a visionary senior executive and culture strategist with over 25 years of transformational leadership experience across higher education and mission-driven organizations. Most recently serving as Assistant Vice President in the Office of External Relations at Stanford University, she provided cabinet-level strategic guidance to four vice presidents while overseeing initiatives serving 17,000+ students, 16,000+ staff, and $2B+ in annual operations. Her leadership spans complex organizational transformations, people-centered culture development, and building consensus
among diverse stakeholder groups during periods of significant institutional change.
Stephany is the creator of the proprietary People-Centered Organizational Community and Culture (P-COCC © ) Model, a comprehensive framework that has generated national recognition and adoption requests from 19 college, universities, and non-profits. She has presented this innovative approach to over 5,000 professionals at national conferences, positioning institutions as thought leaders in organizational excellence. Her demonstrated impact includes successfully managing department restructuring affecting 1,800+ employees, eliminating a $100K deficit at San Jose State University without layoffs, developing retention methodologies across the California State University system that
improved graduation rates by 12%, and securing Fortune 500 partnerships with Intel, Siemens, and JPMorgan at UCBerkeley’s Fung Institute for Engineering Leadership.
Throughout her career, Stephany has distinguished herself by turning organizational challenges into opportunities for sustainable growth, guided by the conviction that when people feel truly seen, heard, and valued, they rise to meet any challenge. Her expertise spans strategic planning, financial stewardship, change management, and diversity and inclusion initiatives across government, academic, and community sectors. Beyond her professional work, she serves as Director of Leadership Initiatives and Christian Education at Friendship Vallejo Church, designing transformational workshops and
coaching programs that empower individuals to navigate major life transitions.
Stephany holds a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership from Grand Canyon University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from San Jose State University. She has received numerous awards including the UC Berkeley Excellence in Leadership Award for Strategic Performance, Stanford University Dean’s Award of Merit for Enterprise Impact, and National Conference Recognition for Organizational Innovation. She is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), Alpha Chi National Honors Society, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.

Jacqueline Arase
Jacqueline Arase brings more than twenty years of experience in nonprofit operations and advancement systems to her role as Development Associate at Mount Tamalpais College. A longtime Bay Area resident, she supports donor research, gift processing, reporting, and Salesforce CRM management, focusing on building strong data systems that support meaningful donor relationships and thoughtful stewardship. She is committed to mission-driven work and believes deeply in the power of education to expand opportunity and transform lives.
Earlier in her career, Jacqueline worked as a museum registration and collections specialist and continues to consult on select part-time documentation projects, including work with the University of California’s Blake Garden outdoor ceramic art collection. She previously led donor database and prospect research initiatives supporting approximately $5 million in annual fundraising and serves on the board of San Francisco Aid for Animals, where she contributes to donor database strategy and data governance.
Jacqueline holds a Master’s degree in Museum Studies with a specialization in Collections Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Art History from UCLA. Outside of work, she enjoys singing, live music, travel, family time, and supporting animal welfare causes.
Carrington Russelle
Carrington Russelle brings a unique blend of leadership, technical expertise, and profound empathy to the Mount Tamalpais College clerk team. As captain of the San Quentin baseball team, he brings a deep understanding of the importance of teamwork and a disciplined work ethic to our academic environment. Deeply committed to student well-being, he serves as a mentor for the Light Keepers, where he provides critical support to peers navigating depression and mental health challenges. Carrington is also a graduate of both a comprehensive construction skills program and the Last Mile coding program, where he served as a Teacher Assistant. This diverse background allows him to bridge the gap between technical proficiency and hands-on problem solving, making him an invaluable asset to the MTC community.
Paul Ross
Paul Ross has been an MTC student since 2022. He is now very close to earning his associate’s degree from MTC. Some of his favorite courses were Philosophy and Biology with Lab. He enjoys learning about science of any kind. He recently applied and was offered a position with MTC as one of two clerks. Paul was happy to accept the clerk position because MTC allows and even encourages him to continue his education. Furthermore, being a clerk gives him a way to thank MTC for all the support and encouragement throughout his higher education journey.
As a clerk, Paul is responsible for keeping the MTC library, audio, and video equipment organized and ready for all MTC events. He is also responsible for the distribution of course supplies and textbooks at the beginning and throughout each semester. His favorite part of the job is working with other students and encouraging them in their educational goals.
Eric Roos
Eric grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in history. After traveling for two years with the international performing group Up With People, Eric began his career in advertising in 1985. He worked for several multinational agencies in San Francisco, then opened Swirl, an integrated communications agency, in 1997.
After selling the agency in 2000, Eric launched a personal care brand called Nancy Boy, with products sold online and at retail. Eric joined the Larkin Street Youth Services board in 2016 and served as board chair from 2023 to 2025.
Carolyn Salcido
Carolyn DeVoto Salcido is the Chief Advancement Officer at Mount Tamalpais College, where she leads the college’s advancement strategy and builds meaningful partnerships to sustain and expand MTC’s transformative mission. She brings more than fifteen years of experience in nonprofit fundraising—twelve of those in higher education—and a deep commitment to advancing equity in education and social justice. Most recently, she served as Associate Vice President of Advancement at California College of the Arts, where she guided a high-performing team through leadership transitions, completed a major capital campaign, and helped secure transformational gifts that strengthened the college’s future.
A lifelong Marin County resident, Carolyn views her work at MTC as a natural extension of her passion for expanding access to education and opportunity. She holds a Master’s in Nonprofit Administration from the University of San Francisco and a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education from Loyola University Chicago.
Avery Yu
Avery brings a decade of experience as a political strategist, organizer, and City Hall staffer to Mt. Tamalpais College. As a legislative aide to the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, she developed a passion for expanding access to city services by simplifying government processes for constituents.
As a political strategist, she specialized in creating systems of data management for winning grassroots campaigns. She is a former volunteer in the Computer lab and is thrilled to bring her blend of experience to support student affairs, records, and registration. Avery is from San Francisco and holds a B.A in Political Economy from UC Berkeley.
