COVID-19

Advocating for Our Students and Incarcerated People During COVID-19

The COVID-19 pandemic has had devastating effects on the physical and mental health of people living and working inside the prison system. In response to this crisis, we expanded our work to provide COVID-19 relief to incarcerated individuals and correctional staff at prisons throughout California. This work includes the delivery of care packages with essential items to incarcerated individuals and the provision of hot meals to correctional staff. Since May 2020, we have delivered 48,193 care packages to people incarcerated at 15 California prisons.

After nearly a year of suspended programming, we are thrilled to resume Associate of Arts degree courses by correspondence to help sustain students’ academic development during this extended period of disruption. While we are not currently running programs in-person, we still encourage interested prospective faculty to submit materials to be in our faculty pool. You will be placed on our mailing list and contacted when programming resumes.
